basmati rice,
cooking oil or ghee (clarified butter),
beans, peas, carrots, cauliflower, potatoes (any combination),
onion,
black pepper, cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom (2 or 3),
garam marsala,
parsley
Soak the rice in water for 15 minutes, drain and fry in oil until slightly brown.
Use a big, deep pan with a tight fitting lid.
Cook the vegetables.
Cut the onion into little pieces and fry in oil,
add the black pepper, cumin seeds, cloves and cardamoms.
Add the cooked vegetables and the mixture to the cooked rice,
add garam marsala and stir.
Garnish with parsley before serving.
