Soak the rice in water for 15 minutes, drain and fry in oil until slightly brown. Use a big, deep pan with a tight fitting lid.

Cut the onion into little pieces and fry in oil, add the black pepper, cumin seeds, cloves and cardamoms. Add the cooked vegetables and the mixture to the cooked rice, add garam marsala and stir. Garnish with parsley before serving.
